Privacy without guesswork

This pre-launch notice describes the data handled by the current publication release. It will be reviewed before any new collection tool is activated.

Information processed

  • Hosting infrastructure may receive ordinary request metadata such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, and time of access.
  • The editor login uses a necessary session cookie and security records such as audited login attempts. Public readers do not need an account.
  • Once a contact channel is configured, the newsroom will process the message and contact details a sender voluntarily provides.
  • Newsletter signup stores the normalized email address, consent source and time, confirmation state, and delivery history. Raw confirmation and unsubscribe tokens are not stored in the application database; only one-way hashes are retained. Links still pass through the configured email provider, the recipient's mailbox, and ordinary hosting request logs when opened.

How information is used

Information is used to operate and secure the site, respond to a message, evaluate a correction or source tip, and meet legal obligations. The publication does not sell personal information.

Retention and disclosure

Data is kept only as long as needed for its operational, editorial, security, or legal purpose. Access is limited to authorized operators and service providers needed to run the publication. Information may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.

Your choices

You may ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you supplied, subject to legal and editorial-record obligations. The public contact channel is still pending owner confirmation and will be posted on the contact page before launch.

Policy changes

This notice will be updated before advertising or a new analytics system begins collecting data. Material changes will be described in clear language rather than silently broadening this policy.
